The ETSU men's basketball team opens the SoCon leg of the 2025-26 season with its final game of the calendar year at The Citadel on Tuesday. Tip time is set for 6:00pm.

The Buccaneers play their first game after the holiday break looking to shake off a three-game losing streak that ended the non-conference portion of the season. While their rankings have slid somewhat during the losing streak, they remain the SoCon's best defensive team by points allowed and field goal percentage allowed.
The Citadel has yet to claim a win over a Division I opponent this season, having come closest with an 82-78 loss to the College of Charleston on Meeting Street on December 17. Their last game before the holiday layoff was an 80-56 loss at Richmond on December 20. Valdosta State transfer Braxton Williams is the Bulldogs' leading scorer at 11.5 points per game, shooting 37% from three-point range where over half his made field goals lie.
This is the 74th meeting between ETSU and The Citadel in men's basketball. The Buccaneers have won six straight and 17 of the last 21, leading the all-time series 53-20. ETSU won the last meeting in Charleston 81-66 on March 1 behind 25 points from Quimari Peterson as well as 14 each from Karon Boyd and Maki Johnson.
