2026 FULL SCHEDULE
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 15, 2025) – Coming off a 41-win season and a NCAA Tournament appearance, the ETSU baseball team released its 2026 schedule on Monday. The 53-game regular season slate features 26 games at Thomas Stadium.
"This year's schedule will provide our team with some competitive non-conference weekend series," said ETSU Head Coach
Joe Pennucci. "We also have some midweek opponents that will test us for an always competitive SoCon slate."
BUCS START AT HOME FOR THE 16TH STRAIGHT SEASON
The Buccaneers will open the 2026 season with a three-game series against Marist at Thomas Stadium. This will be the 16
th straight season that the Bucs have opened a season at home in Johnson City.
SOUTHERN CONFERENCE SLATE
The Buccaneers will begin their SoCon schedule with a three-game road set at UNC Greensboro (March 20-22). ETSU will also travel to Samford (April 2-4), Western Carolina (April 24-26), and Wofford (May 8-10). The Blue and Gold will play host to VMI (March 27-29), The Citadel (April 17-19), and Mercer (May 14-16). Overall, the Bucs will play 21 games against SoCon opponents this spring. Over the past two seasons, the Bucs have won over 64 percent of their games against conference foes.
OTHER HOME SERIES FOR THE BUCS
After opening the season with a three-game set against Marist, the Bucs will also welcome Sacred Heart (Feb. 20-22), Quinnipiac (Feb. 27-March 1), Bradley (March 13-15) for non-conference series. The set against Bradley will be four games with Saturday being a doubleheader.
HOME-AND-HOME WITH THE HOKIES
For the second straight season, the Bucs will have a home-and-home set with Virginia Tech. These two programs have met every year since 2015 except for 2022. ETSU will head to Blacksburg for its first road trip of the season on February 17. VT will then make its return trip to Johnson City on March 24.
MIDWEEK CLASHES WITH FAMILIAR OPPONENTS
The Bucs will also have home-and-home midweek sets against regional foes Appalachian State, UNC Asheville and Radford. ETSU will play home games against those programs on February 24, April 28 and May 5. The Bucs will travel to take on those teams on April 21, March 17, and April 7, respectively.
STACKING UP AGAINST THE SEC
Like most seasons, the Bucs will have a couple of games against teams from the SEC. ETSU will make the short trip to Knoxville take on Tennessee on March 3. The Bucs downed the Vols, who were No. 1 in the country at the time, last season. The Buccaneers will also play at Georgia on April 14.
TRIO OF TOUGH NON-CONFERENCE ROAD SERIES
The Bucs will be tested on the road this season with three tough road series outside of their conference schedule. ETSU will play three games against James Madison (March 6-8), Belmont (April 10-11), and UConn (May 1-3).
SOCON TOURNAMENT AT FLUOR FIELD
For the ninth consecutive season, the Southern Conference Baseball Championship will be played at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C. The 2026 tournament will take place on May 20-24 with the winner earning the SoCon's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The stadium is home to the Greenville Drive — the High-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox — and is designed as a mini-replica of Boston's Fenway Park.
