JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - After being drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 2025 MLB draft, I was eager to take my first steps into professional baseball.

My initial journey took me to Florida, where I spent a few weeks at the spring training complex.

From there, I joined the Green Jackets, the Braves' Low A affiliate, in Augusta, South Carolina, and played 10 games before being called up to their High A team in Rome, Georgia.

Following my stint in Rome, I returned to Florida for an instructional camp, honing my skills for the upcoming season.

Now, I'm back home, enjoying some quality time with family and indulging in a bit of hunting before heading back to Florida for a strength camp.

ETSU relationships

Reflecting on my journey from ETSU to the professional ranks, I can't help but emphasize the pivotal role my teammates and coaches played in shaping me.

The relationships I built during my time at ETSU were invaluable.

From my freshman year to my junior year, everyone around me pushed me to be the best version of myself, both on and off the field.

I can't narrow it down to just one person who influenced me the most, but I can certainly say that my teammates and coaches were my guiding lights.

They were relentless in their efforts to push me to be my best every single day.

Their support and mentorship were instrumental in my growth as a player and as an individual.

SoCon champion

There are several fond memories from my time at ETSU, but winning the regular season and the SoCon Championship in the same year stands out.

It was a remarkable achievement that brought our team closer together and showcased the talent and determination of our squad.

Additionally, earning the opportunity to play in a regional at Vanderbilt was a dream come true.

These moments were the culmination of years of hard work and dedication, and I'll cherish them forever.

Advice to ETSU athletes

To the current ETSU student-athletes, I'd offer this advice: take full advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.

Don't take anything for granted.

Embrace the challenges, learn from the setbacks, and savor the victories.

ETSU is a place where dreams are nurtured and realized, and it's up to each athlete to make the most of their time here.

As I look ahead to my first full professional baseball season, I'm filled with excitement and anticipation.

The journey from ETSU to the professional ranks has been an incredible ride, and I'm grateful for the foundation that ETSU provided me.

The relationships, memories, and lessons I gained here will always hold a special place in my heart.

And as I proudly represent ETSU in my professional career, I'll always remember where it all began.
