JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 7, 2025) – Nobody in the ETSU locker room is queuing up Willie Nelson songs, but the time to get on the road again has arrived all the same.

The ETSU men's basketball team visits the Presbyterian Blue Hose on Saturday at the Templeton Center in Clinton, South Carolina, for their first road game of 2025-26. Tipoff is set for 6:00pm.

The Bucs thrashed Converse 102-50 in their season opener on Tuesday with five Buccaneers in double figure points led by Jordan McCullum's 18 in 20 minutes. Milton Matthews III was the top three-point shooter with four makes on eight attempts and 14 points total, beginning his trek toward a fourth straight season with 100 or more made threes. Brian Taylor II scored 13 points in 15 minutes with baskets at all three levels and was the only Buccaneer to make at least one each of a two-point field goal, a three pointer, and a free throw.

The Blue Hose are set to play their third straight home game to start 2025-26, losing 76-55 to Navy on Monday and besting Bluefield 105-76 on Wednesday. They were picked sixth in the Big South preseason poll after going 14-19 last season with a 7-9 conference record. Redshirt senior forward Jonah Pierce was named second team Preseason All-Big South before the campaign began and has bounced back from an injury-shortened season last year with 32 points and 22 rebounds in his first two games. Quinton Ferrell's group has been successful at the rim but less so from the perimeter: they are shooting 63.1% on two-point field goals but 26.1% from beyond the arc two games into their season.

This is the first-ever meeting between ETSU and Presbyterian in men's basketball, the second of five first-time opponents on ETSU's nonconference schedule: Converse, PC, North Alabama, Central Arkansas, and South Alabama.
