TEMPE, Ariz. (Nov. 25, 2025) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its final National Rankings of 2025 on Tuesday and the ETSU men's tennis team had a pair of doubles teams make the national list. First,
Oscar Martinez and
Martin Vergara checked in at No. 61, while the duo of Martinez and
Juan Listo came in at No. 84.
Martinez and Vergara are fresh off an appearance at the NCAA Doubles Championships last week in Orlando. They earned this spot by finishing as the runner-up at the ITA Conference Masters Championship in San Diego. Overall, Martinez and Vergara have teamed up to play 16 matches together in the Blue and Gold and they have compiled a record of 13-3.
Martinez and Listo played three matches together early in the fall season and went a perfect 3-0. This pairing ran the table and won a doubles flight at the Elon Invitational back in September.
ETSU joins a group of 28 other Division I programs that had multiple doubles teams nationally ranked on Monday. The Bucs were the only team from the SoCon to multiple pairings ranked. Furthermore, ETSU joined Vanderbilt and Memphis as the only programs in the state of Tennessee to have multiple appearances in the national doubles rankings.
The Bucs will now turn their attention to the spring season, which will get underway in mid-January.
