Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - East Tennessee State volleyball continued its SoCon dominance, downing UNC Greensboro to remain the only undefeated team in the league. The Bucs (14-5, 8-0 SoCon) downed the Spartans (12-7, 5-3 SoCon) in five sets (25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-13) on Saturday night.
NOTABLES
- Makayla Bays tallied the match-high of 22 kills for her third match of the season over 20 and her fifth over 19. The sophomore outside hitter collected her 12th career double-double with the feat, recording 13 digs with her tied career-high and season-high of four aces.
- Brianna Cantrell, the senior outside hitter, boasted her 16th career double-double in the contest, posting a season-high 19 kills with a season-high 15 digs, tacking on a career-high six block assists and 11 flawless receptions.
- Senior middle blocker Whitley Rammel was on a tear at the net, tallying a career-high 10 block assists, and adding on nine kills with four digs in the five-sets.
- Alex Kreutzmann, the junior setter, posted a career day, recording a career-high 31 assists and 10 digs for her second career double-double.
- Senior opposite Isabelle Iosua and redshirt sophomore middle blocker Gianna Blair followed Rammel and Cantrell's efforts at the net, notching four block assists apiece.
- Melanie Morris led backrow defense with the team-high of 18 digs. The junior libero has now recorded double-digit digs in 13 of 19 matches and saw 6 receptions, tacking on two aces and seven assists.
- Eight of the 11 Bucs who saw action in the match tallied at least one kill and seven of the 11 Bucs boasted at least one block assist.
- The Bucs totaled 64 kills, 63 assists, six aces, 76 digs and 29 block assists.
