THINGS TO KNOW – Please click HERE for all the "Things to Know" for Saturday's matchup with the Keydets, presented by Citizens Bank.

HUGE DAY FROM DEVONTAE HOUSTON - A definite bright spot for the Bucs last Saturday was the performance by running back Devontae Houston. Houston ran for a career-high 150 yards on Saturday against Furman. Houston, who also ran for two touchdowns on the day, topped 100 yards rushing for the fifth time in his ETSU career. Houston's 150 yards on the ground are the most by an ETSU rusher since Trey Foster ran for 172 yards against VMI in 2023.

ADDING TO THE INT TOTAL - With an interception by Mike Jenkins on Saturday, the Bucs have now intercepted at least one pass in four straight games. The last time ETSU, which now has eight interceptions on the season, had an interception in four consecutive games was in 2022. Additionally, the eight interceptions by ETSU rank only behind Tarleton State (11) and Colgate (10) among FCS teams this season.

PASSING THE TEST ON THIRD DOWN - ETSU has attempted the sixth-most plays in the FCS on third down this season. The Bucs have held their own on that many attempts converting on 41.1 percent of those tries, which is the best in the SoCon.

EARLY SEASON TESTS - ETSU has faced tough schedule this season. The Bucs' four losses this season have been against teams with a combined record of 17-4 (.809 winning percentage). The slate for ETSU should be considerably easier moving forward as none of their six opponents remaining have a winning record so far in 2025.

ABOUT VMI - VMI will come to Johnson City with a 1-4 overall record that includes a 0-1 mark in league play. Two of VMI's four losses this season have been by one score. The Keydets fell to Bucknell 35-28 and then dropped a 21-14 contest to Chattanooga on Saturday. A strength for VMI this season has been its ability to protect the ball. The Keydets are one of eight teams in the FCS this year that have not lost a fumble yet.

SERIES REWIND AGAINST THE KEYDETS - Saturday will mark the 31st all-time meeting between the Bucs and Keydets. ETSU has held the historic edge in the series winning 19 of the previous 30 matchups. Since 2000, the Bucs have won nine of the 12 meetings between these two programs. Despite the numbers being tilted towards ETSU, the series has been competitive with six of the last seven possessions being one-possession games. The two teams have split the four previous matchups at Greene Stadium, including the last one in 2023, 31-24. ETSU avenged that loss with a 16-9 win over the Keydets in the season finale last November. In that game, Houston ran for a team-high 105 yards on 18 carries.
