Bucs conclude first half of SoCon play Wednesday at UNCG

Game to be played inside Fleming Gym

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Jan. 28, 2025) – The ETSU men's basketball team closes out its first half of Southern Conference play on Wednesday night when the Buccaneers head to North Carolina to take on UNCG. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside Fleming Gym.

  • The Bucs are coming off a 71-63 setback to Chattanooga last Saturday inside Freedom Hall
  • Quimari Peterson and Jaden Seymour each scored 22 points, while accounting for 14 of the Bucs' 21 made field goals
  • Wednesday concludes the first leg of SoCon round robin play as ETSU has defeated VMI, Mercer, The Citadel, Samford and Western Carolina, while falling to Wofford, Furman and Chattanooga
  • ETSU is currently tied for third in the SoCon standings with Chattanooga and Wofford, while UNCG is one game ahead in second place

  • Quimari Peterson and Jaden Seymour rank first and second in the SoCon in scoring … Peterson is averaging 18.3 points per game and Seymour is at 17.7 … Peterson and Seymour are the only duo from the same team to rank one-two in their respective conference in scoring and one of three sets of teammates who have scored at least 370 points this season
  • Peterson ranks 21st nationally in field goals made (145) and is 38th in points (384)

  • In last year's series, the Bucs averaged 64.3 points, while UNCG was held to 65.7 … Jaden Seymour averaged 14.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in the three games, while Quimari Peterson – who hit the game-winning shot in the 66-65 victory in Johnson City – averaged 13.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists
