WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Jan. 12, 2025) – The ETSU men's tennis team faced its toughest test of the young season on Sunday afternoon as it visited No. 4 Wake Forest. The fourth-ranked Demon Deacons knocked off the Bucs by a score of 7-0. With Sunday's setback, the Bucs move to 0-2 on the 2025 campaign.
 
Wake Forest began Sunday's tilt by securing the doubles point with victories in the No. 1 and 2 doubles positions. James Sim and Pedro Cressoni were playing tough in the No. 3 spot as the score was 5-4 Wake Forest when the Demon Deacons clinched the point.
 
In singles, the Bucs pushed two of the six matchups to a third set. Martin Garcia-Ripoll and Cressoni won sets by scores of 6-3 and 7-5, respectively. Both players bounced back after dropping the first frame to win the second before ultimately falling in the third.

ETSU will return to action on January 24 when it travels to take on Presbyterian. First serve for that matchup is set for 1 p.m.
