AUBURN, Ala. (May 7, 2024) – The ETSU women's golf team concluded second round play at the NCAA Regional at the Auburn University Club where senior
Grace Chin led the Blue & Gold on Tuesday.
Chin shot a 4-over 76 in round two and is tied for 26th at 7-over-par 151 for the tournament.
Sophie Bert, ETSU's leader in round one, posted a 5-over 77 on Tuesday to move into a tie for 14th at 4-over-par 148.
Houston's Moa Svedenskiold tied for the lowest round of the day at 3-under 69 to jump four spots to the top of the leaderboard at 3-under-par 141. Svedenskiold holds a one-shot lead over Anna Davis and Megan Schofill both from Auburn. Davis also carded a 3-under 69 on Tuesday, along with Georgia's Caternia Don.
Overall, only six golfers in the field on Tuesday turned in a score below par.
Auburn, the only team to shoot below par on Tuesday, still holds the team lead at 1-over-par 577. The Tigers lead Houston by 14 shots and North Carolina by 15 strokes. Oregon sits in third at 19-over-par 595, while Georgia and Tulsa are tied for fifth at 20-over-par 596.
As a team, ETSU moved to 10th at 42-over-par 618 after recording a 22-over 310 on Tuesday.
ETSU's other countable scores on Tuesday came from freshman
Brianna Castaldi and senior
Amber Thornton. Castaldi shot a 6-over 78 and Thornton totaled a 7-over 79.
The Bucs will be grouped with Kennesaw State and Albany in Wednesday's final round. ETSU tees off starting at 9:55 a.m. ET from No. 10.
