JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 5, 2024) – The ETSU men's tennis team sent its senior class out with a 4-3 win over longtime rival Chattanooga on Friday. Friday's win over the Mocs improves ETSU's overall record to 8-9 and 5-0 in SoCon play.
Friday's match began with the Bucs and Mocs splitting the first two doubles matches. However, the senior duo of
Dimitri Badra and
Adam Nagoudi teamed up to win their match by a score of 6-4 to clinch the doubles point for the Bucs.
ETSU started singles play well winning the first tilts that completed. However, the Mocs rallied back to tie the score at 3-3. The match-deciding tilt was in No. 4 singles and
Pedro Cressoni outlasted Chattanooga's Ryan Mudre in three sets, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4, to finish off the 4-3 win for ETSU. With Friday's win, the Bucs improve to 14-1 in their last 15 matchups with their in-state rivals.
