BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 30, 2024) – The ETSU men's tennis team picked up its third straight win as it downed Samford by a score of 4-3 on Saturday afternoon. With Saturday's win, the Buccaneers improved to 7-9 overall and 4-0 in SoCon action. Furthermore, the win over the Bulldogs gives ETSU sole possession of first place in the conference standings.
After the Bulldogs claimed the doubles point, the Bucs played well in the singles portion of Saturday's match.
Alberto Garcia got the Bucs on the board with a 6-4, 6-3 win. However, the Bulldogs won two of the first three singles tilts that were completed to go up 3-1. With Samford near clinching the win,
Pedro Cressoni,
Dimitri Badra and
Francisco Lamas all won their matches to help the Bucs rally and secure their third straight win.
