ETSU looks to extend win streak Wednesday against Wofford

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 6, 2024) – The ETSU men's basketball team eyes a third straight win when the Buccaneers play host to Wofford on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. inside Freedom Hall.

  • ETSU sits 12-11 overall and 4-6 in SoCon play 
  • The Bucs have won back-to-back conference games for the first time this season as ETSU defeated Mercer 54-49 last Wednesday and beat The Citadel 62-60 on Saturday 
  • The Blue & Gold are looking for their first three-game SoCon win streak since winning four straight from Jan. 18-30, 2021
  • ETSU has held its last two SoCon opponents to 109 points, marking the fewest points in back-to-back league games since the 2021-22 season when the Bucs held Wofford to 49 points and Chattanooga to 53
  • The Bucs have played nine games this season that have been decided by three points or less … ETSU is 5-4 in those contests 
  • ETSU has won its last five home games in February dating back to last season

ABOUT WOFFORD 
  • Wofford enters Wednesday's midweek game with an overall record of 13-10 and a 6-4 mark in league play 
  • The Terriers defeated Western Carolina 88-86 in overtime last Saturday in Spartanburg 
  • Seven of Wofford's 10 SoCon games have been decided by four points or less 
  • Nine of Wofford's 13 wins have come at home this season, while the Terriers are 4-9 in games played away from Spartanburg 
  • The Terriers have four players averaging double figures in scoring with Corey Tripp leading the charge at 16.6 points per game … Tripp is coming off a 27-point performance on 13-of-17 shooting against Western Carolina 
  • Dillon Bailey (11.8 ppg), Klyer Filewich (10.3) and Jackson Sivills (10.0) are also averaging double figures in scoring … Filewich is also posting 9.3 rebounds per game and shooting just under 60 percent from the field (107-180)

  • ETSU leads the all-time series 41-18, but Wofford defeated the Bucs 75-73 earlier this year in Spartanburg
