ABOUT THE BUCS
  • ETSU is coming off a decisive 71-33 win over Western Carolina last Saturday. With Saturday's win, the Bucs improve to 18-9 overall and 7-5 in SoCon play.
  • Saturday's win had multiple season-best marks for ETSU. The 33 points allowed vs. WCU is the team's lowest of the season and the 38-point victory is ETSU's largest against a SoCon foe since it downed Wofford by the same margin last February. Furthermore, it was ETSU's largest win over Western Carolina since 1995 when the Bucs won a contest by 41 points, 94-53.
  • With Saturday's victory, the Bucs have won back-to-back games for the first time since late December/early January when they won three in a row against Coker, Samford, and Mercer.
  • Thursday's game is an important one in regards of seeding for the upcoming SoCon Tournament. ETSU and Wofford are currently tied for second place in the league standings with UNC Greensboro and Mercer a half game behind with 7-6 records. If ETSU can claim the No. 2 seed, it'll mark its highest seed for the conference tournament since 2018 when it was also the No. 2 seed.
  • Entering the final week of the regular season, the Bucs are one of the top defensive teams in the nation. ETSU ranks eighth nationally in scoring defense (54.1 PPG) and 27th in field goal percentage defense (.368). Only Albany (51.2), VCU (51.6), Vermont (52.4), St. Joseph's (53.0), Norfolk State (53.7), Chattanooga (53.9), and Campbell (54.0) have allowed fewer points per game than the Bucs this season.
  • Nevaeh Brown continues to be ETSU's most consistent option offensively averaging 13.8 points per game. In addition to scoring, Brown also leads the Bucs in 3-point field goal percentage (.385), assists (65), and minutes played (876).
  • As the season has progressed, Meghan Downing has stepped into a key role for ETSU. Downing, who ranks third in the SoCon in blocks per game (1.00), has started the last nine games for the Bucs and has averaged 7.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game during that stretch.
  • A couple players to watch for ETSU against Wofford are Courtney Moore and Sarah Thompson. Both Moore and Thompson had career-best scoring nights against the Terriers last season with point totals of 26 and 17, respectively.

ABOUT WOFFORD
  • Wofford enters Thursday's game with the Bucs with a 15-11 record overall and 7-5 in SoCon play.
  • The Terriers are 12-1 this season at home with their lone setback occurring back on December 2 against Bellarmine, 61-59.
  • Wofford will look to snap a three-game losing skid on Thursday as it has dropped games against Furman (64-51), Samford (64-62) and Mercer (79-74).
  • A player to watch for the Terriers is Rachael Rose. Rose was recently named to the USBWA Player of the Year Watch List. Rose is currently leading the SoCon points (574), rebounds per game (8.7), assists per game (5.8) and steals per game (2.15).
  • Thursday will mark the 40th all-time meeting between ETSU and Wofford. The Bucs have won 26 of the previous 39 matchups. However, Wofford upended the Bucs earlier this season in Johnson City, 77-65
