WILMINGTON, N.C.  (Feb. 16, 2024) – The ETSU men's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision on the road at UNC Wilmington on Friday. With Friday's loss, the Buccaneers move to 3-6 on the season.
 
ETSU got off to a good start on Friday winning two of the three doubles contests. However, UNCW rebounded to win four singles matches to not only gain the lead but clinch the match. Dimitri Badra and Alberto Garcia moved their matches to three sets before the match was clinched by UNCW.  
 
Singles Competition
1. Dimitri Badra (ETSU) vs. Harold Huens (UNCW) – 6-3, 1-6, 3-3 (unfinished)
2. Bekhzod Rasamatov (UNCW) def. Milledge Cossu (ETSU) – 6-1, 3-6, 6-1
3. Reece Falck (UNCW) def. Peter Kalocsai (ETSU) – 6-1, 6-3
4. Gabe Hurtado (UNCW) def. Pedro Cressoni (ETSU) – 6-1, 6-4
5. Alberto Garcia (ETSU) vs. Trey Mallory (UNCW) – 7-5, 3-6 (unfinished)
6. Jordi Domenech (UNCW) def. James Sim (ETSU) – 7-5, 6-4
 
Doubles Competition
1. Reece Falck/Harold Huens (UNCW) def. Milledge Cossu/Francisco Lamas (ETSU) – 6-2
2. Dimitri Badra/Adam Nagoudi (ETSU) def. Jordi Domenech/Jonathan Baron (UNCW) – 6-3
3. Pedro Cressoni/Alberto Garcia (ETSU) def. Bekhzod Rasamatov/Gabe Hurtado (UNCW) – 7-6
 
ETSU will play its first SoCon match of 2024 on February 26 when it welcomes UNC Greensboro to Johnson City. First serve for that match is set for 2 p.m.
