JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 9, 2024) – East Tennessee State University women's basketball fell 55-48 to Jackson State on Saturday in Johnson City.
Senior guard
Braylyn Milton led the Bucs with 14 points. Senior guard
Kendall Folley added 11. Jackson State was led by Talea Dilworth, who had 14.
ETSU led 16-15 after a low scoring first half. Neither squad was able to get much going offensively as 19 fouls were called in the half. The Bucs also maintained a 34-33 lead heading into the final frame, but a six and a half minute drought in between made field goals in the fourth quarter led to a 17-1 Tigers run.
The Bucs attempted a rally, scoring 11 in the final minute and a half, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
JSU shot 6-of-23 from 3-point distance and 15-of-21 from the free throw line to the Bucs' 4-for-21 from 3-point range and 8-of-9 from the line, making the difference in the game. ETSU did win the rebounding battle, 43-35, but shot just 28.1% from the field in the contest.
Next, ETSU begins a three-game road swing at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Gardner-Webb.
