SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Oct. 7, 2024) – The Southern Conference announced that ETSU's
Nate Brackett was named the Conference's SoCon Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Brackett is the third consecutive Buccaneer to earn a weekly award from the SoCon joining
Ewan Johnson (Special Teams – Sept. 23) and
Khamran Laborn (Offensive – Sept. 30).
Nate Brackett helped ETSU change field position multiple times in Saturday's rivalry game vs. Chattanooga. Brackett, an All-SoCon First Team selection last season, averaged 48.3 yards per punt on six attempts. Furthermore, Brackett had a season-long 65-yard punt in the fourth quarter of Saturday's clash with the Mocs. Three of Brackett's six punts went 50 yards or further and he pinned the Mocs inside the 20-yard line three times as well.
Brackett and the rest of the Bucs will return to action this Saturday when they host Samford in Johnson City. Kickoff between the Bucs and Bulldogs is set for 3:30 p.m. from Bank of Tennessee Field at William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium.
