LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 5, 2024) – The ETSU men's and women's cross country teams completed competition at the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky.
The women, competing in a 5K, were led by redshirt senior
Rebekah Howard, while the men, running an 8K, were paced by
Dane Sullins. Howard placed 73rd in the field of 265 runners with a time of 18:11.5. Sullins led the Blue & Gold for the first time in his collegiate career by crossing the line in 25:58.0.
Racing in just her third collegiate event,
Deena Ludtke set a personal best time of 18:23.3. In addition,
Sophie Beach (18:28.3),
Bonita Gray (18:31.0) and
Camryn Johnson (18:51.2) all set new PRs on Saturday.
West Virginia's Ceili McCabe won the race with a time of 16:06.0.
On the men's side,
Nolan Pedota – who led the Bucs two weeks in Blacksburg, Va. – was the second ETSU runner to finish as he posted a time of 26:17.6.
William Amponsah of West Texas A&M won the men's race with a time of 23:21.0.
The Bucs are scheduled to return to Spartanburg, S.C., for their last regular season race at the Upstate Invitational on Oct. 19.
