KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 20, 2024) – East Tennessee State University women's golf finished the first day of the Mercedes Benz Collegiate in Knoxville on Sunday.
Sophomore
Brianna Castaldi led the way for the Bucs, shooting 1-over par to end the day tied for 13th. Her round included an eagle on the 15th hole. Junior
Madeline Simcox added a score of 6-over, and the Bucs sit in a tie for 10th as a team heading into Monday.
Tennessee's Kyra Van Kan leads the individual competition at 2-under. Five golfers joined her under par in the first round. In the team competition, Miami leads at 2-over. UCF, Tennessee and Memphis are all tied for second at 3-over.
