ETSU started the second half leading for the first five minutes before a quick 6-0 run put the Terriers ahead 49-45 following a three-pointer by Anthony Arrington at the 14:07 mark.
The four-point lead matched Wofford's largest of the contest, but back-to-back threes by Rice pulled the Bucs even at 51 with just under 13 minutes left to play.
The game featured four ties over the next eight minutes – and with the game knotted at 67 – ETSU looked to be prime for its first SoCon road win of the season as the Blue & Gold scored the next four points to regain a 71-67 advantage with 2:26 remaining.
Unfortunately, Wofford's next trip down the floor resulted in a six-point swing as Jackson Sivillis made a three, was fouled and the Terriers grabbed the offensive rebound. Following the board, Sivillis connected on another triple in the corner, making it a 73-71 score at the 2:10 mark.
Wofford never trailed but the Bucs continued to fight to stay in the contest.
With ETSU down three, Seymour was fouled – in what appeared to be in the act of shooting from beyond the arc – but the refs said the foul was committed prior to the shot, resulting in just two free throws. Seymour made one of two and the Bucs were forced to foul Arrington with seven seconds left. Arrington missed the front end of the 1-and-1, giving ETSU one last chance; however, Peterson's driving lay-up was blocked by Kyler Filewich at the buzzer.
