ABOUT THE BUCS
- ETSU dropped its first result of the year on Thursday, a 3-1 loss at #25 Tennessee. Junior Sinoxolo Cesane (Cape Town, South Africa) scored to level the match at 1-1 in the 49th minute before a tough-luck own goal put the Lady Vols back in front to stay.
- Cesane's goal was the fourth of her career, and she registered a career-high three shots.
- A win Sunday in Boiling Springs would match the best four-game start of the Jay Yelton era, in 2021. The 3-1-0 start from August 26-September 10, 2021, stands as the best start by ETSU women's soccer through four games since 2015, when the Bucs started 4-0-0.
- Senior goalkeeper Ashton Blair (Knoxville, Tenn.) recorded a career-high 10 saves against Tennessee on 12 shots on goal.
- Juniors Sydney Somogyi (Germantown, Tenn.) and Madi Hook (Fareham, England) have played 469 of the last 470 minutes of game action as the center back pairing for ETSU, dating back to October 9th, 2022. Somogyi has played all 470 minutes of that span and has started all 35 appearances of her career, missing only the Bucs' game at App State on September 8, 2022.
