ABOUT THE BUCS
- The Buccaneers notched their sixth straight win on Wednesday as they knocked off Gardner-Webb at Freedom Hall, 60-48. Wednesday's win moves ETSU's record to 10-3.
- ETSU was 10-3 through 13 games last season as well en route to a school record 25 victories. The last time the Bucs were 10-3 or better through 13 games in back-to-back seasons was in 1980-81 (12-1) and 1981-82 (10-3).
- The six-game winning streak, which included wins over Morehead State, Charleston Southern, Lees-McRae, UNC Asheville, Campbell and Gardner-Webb, is the program's longest since the 2017-18 season.
- A major key in ETSU's success lately has been the play of Nevaeh Brown. Brown is averaging 17.7 points per game during the winning streak. Furthermore, she has set new career-high point totals twice during the stretch with the last occurring Wednesday when she netted 25 points vs. Gardner-Webb.
- The last two Decembers have been filled with victories for the Buccaneers. Over the last two Decembers, ETSU has compiled a record of 13-1 with the lone setback coming against Bowling Green last year.
- The Buccaneers continue to lead the SoCon in fewest fouls per game (13.9), scoring defense (52.1), and fewest turnovers per game (13.0). On a national level, those marks rank 32nd, 13th and 26th, respectively.
- ETSU continues to be one of the top defensive teams in the country this season. During the six-game winning streak, the Bucs have not allowed an opposing team to score more than 52 points. When the Bucs hold opponents to under 60 points, they are a perfect 10-0.
- Breanne Beatty continues to make progress in her pursuit of her 1,000th collegiate point. Beatty, who scored six points on Wednesday, is just 19 points away from reaching the milestone.
- Friday's game will mark the seventh all-time meeting between the Bucs and Tigers with the last matchup occurring in 2003. ETSU, which has never defeated Clemson, will be looking for its first win over an ACC foe since 2019 (Wake Forest – 67-60) and its second win over a Power Five opponent in as many years (Vanderbilt – 44-31 on December 1, 2022).
ABOUT CLEMSON
- Clemson enters Friday's game with the Bucs sporting a 7-5 record. The Tigers are coming off a 16-point win (70-54) over Air Force on Tuesday.
- The Tigers have three players averaging 10 points per game or better this season. Leading this trio has been Amari Robinson. Robinson is averaging 17.9 points per game and currently leads the ACC in field goal percentage (.595).
- Clemson is a veteran-laden team as its current roster boasts the most career points scored at the Division I level by any team in the ACC. Furthermore, the Tigers have four players that have scored 1,000 or points in their collegiate careers.
- The Tigers are a team that definitely loves playing at home. Six of their seven wins this season have come at Littlejohn Coliseum and Clemson is outscoring opposing teams by an average of 25.8 points in those six victories.
- Clemson Head Coach Amanda Butler is in her sixth season leading the Tigers. Prior to arriving at Clemson, Butler was the head coach at Charlotte and Florida. ETSU Head Coach Brenda Mock Brown was an assistant coach on Butler's staffs at each school.
