JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 19, 2023) – ETSU defensive back
Sheldon Arnold II was named second team All-American by Stats Perform FCS as the publication released its postseason awards for the 2023 season on Tuesday.
This marks Arnold's third All-American honor this season as he also picked up the accolade from Phil Steele and FCS Football Central last week.
Arnold is coming off a stellar junior season where he registered 87 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four interceptions, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, and scored on a 99-yard return off a blocked field goal in ETSU's season-ending win over The Citadel.
Arnold started all 11 games this past season for the Bucs and ended the regular season ranked third among FCS players in fumble recoveries, tied for seventh in total interceptions and 14th in interceptions per game (0.4). The Loganville, Ga. native also had one pick-6 on the season when he opened the game with a 39-yard touchdown return in the win over Wofford.
