ETSU Football Announces 2026 Schedule Change, Adds Home Game vs. Tusculum

The matchup will replace the previously scheduled game at North Dakota State.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 24, 2026) – East Tennessee State football has announced a schedule change that will add an additional home game to the 2026 slate while creating an opportunity to support a meaningful community cause.

With North Dakota State transitioning to the FBS level, the previously scheduled road matchup will no longer be played. ETSU will replace that contest with a home game against nearby Tusculum, bringing an additional game to William B. Greene Jr. Stadium on Sept. 5

The matchup will serve as a special fundraising opportunity for Niswonger Children's Hospital, benefiting the hospital and the families it serves throughout the region.

"We are incredibly grateful for our strong partnership with ETSU Athletics and Ballad Health, and for the opportunity to work together in support of Niswonger Children's Hospital," said Alan Levine, Executive Chairman and President & CEO of Ballad Health. "This game represents a meaningful opportunity for our community to come together to support children and families facing serious health challenges. We are proud to partner with ETSU to raise awareness and critical funding that will make a real difference in the lives of so many families across our region."

The added home contest will not impact season ticket pricing. ETSU is encouraging season ticket holders and fans to consider making a donation through a special fund for Niswonger Children's Hospital that will be established, with details on how to contribute to be announced at a later date.

More information regarding donation opportunities will be shared in the coming weeks.
