  • Since the start of last season ETSU has had multiple winning streaks. In 2022-23, ETSU notched five streaks of four or more wins.
  • ETSU was led on Sunday by Kendall Folley. Folley scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to go with two assists and two steals.
  • Neveah Brown added a season-high 16 points to go with five rebounds. Brown enters this weekend's action leading the SoCon in minutes played per game (35.48).
  • Journee McDaniel also scored in double figures last Sunday at Presbyterian. McDaniel, an All-SoCon Freshman Team honoree last season, finished with 11 points and added four rebounds. McDaniel currently ranks second on ETSU in rebounds with 24 slightly behind Jakhyia Davis and her 28 rebounds.
  • ETSU continues to be one of the better defensive teams in the SoCon. The Bucs rank third in the league allowing 54.6 point per game. Furthermore, of the 24 quarters ETSU has played in this season it has held opposing teams to under 10 points six times.
  • The Buccaneers continues to be one of the stingiest teams in the country in turning the ball over just 10.0 times per game. ETSU's average of 10 turnovers per game ranks third in Division I women's basketball trailing only Colorado State (6.0) and Villanova (7.8).
  • ETSU has fared well in games played on the road or at neutral sites since the start of last season. The Bucs are 17-7 in road or neutral site games, including a 2-1 mark in away contests. Friday's game vs. Norfolk State will be ETSU's first neutral site game. In neutral site games, ETSU was 6-3 last season.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
  • ETSU's three possible opponents this weekend have combined for an 11-0 record this season. Norfolk State is 5-0, while Colgate and Miami both enter the tournament sporting records of 3-0.

  • The Spartans are a stingy defense like ETSU as they rank 24th in the country in scoring defense allowing 51.4 points per game.
  • A player to watch for Norfolk State is Niya Fields. Fields is shooting 62.5 percent from 3-point range so far this season, which is the fifth-best mark in the nation.
  • Colgate, which was 16-14 last season, has wins over Cornell, UMBC and Canisius so far in 2023-24.
