ABOUT THE BUCS
- The Buccaneers are coming off a 49-45 win over Radford on Wednesday. With Wednesday's victory, the Buccaneers improved to 2-1 on the season.
- ETSU was led in its win over the Highlanders by Breanne Beatty. Beatty scored a season-high 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field.
- ETSU's most consistent offensive option through the early going has been Courtney Moore. Moore, who netted 11 points at Radford, is the lone Buccaneer that has scored in double figures in all three games this season.
- ETSU has more than held its own on the road since Coach Mock came to Johnson City prior to last season. Since the beginning of the 2022-23 season, the Bucs are 10-4 in true road games.
- A strength for the Buccaneers in the first few games has been limiting turnovers. ETSU ranks fifth in the nation averaging 10.0 turnovers per game. Only Villanova, Colorado State, UNC Greensboro and UAB have averaged fewer turnovers than the Bucs.
- With a win on Sunday at PC, the Bucs will have won three games in a row. Last season, ETSU notched five streaks of four or more wins.
ABOUT PRESBYTERIAN
- Presbyterian enters Sunday's game with a 2-2 record. The Blue Hose are still looking for their first win over a Division I opponent this season as their two wins were against Johnson C. Smith (76-40) and Columbia International (95-43).
- PC's defense has been its strength through four games as it currently leads all Big South teams in scoring defense surrendering just 53.0 points per game.
- Aubrie Kierscht is a player to watch for the Blue Hose. Coming into Sunday's game, Kierscht is averaging a team-high 10.3 points per game. She has also knocked down a team-best eight 3-pointers.
SERIES HISTORY
- ETSU and Presbyterian have met just twice over the years and both of those matchups have occurred since 2020.
- The Blue Hose won both of those previous meetings. PC defeated the Bucs 68-38 in Johnson City on December 12, 2020 and followed that with a 63-55 victory on November 13, 2021 in Clinton.
UP NEXT
Following Sunday's matchup with the Blue Hose, the Bucs will head south to compete in Miami's Thanksgiving Tournament. ETSU will face off against Norfolk State on Friday before clashing with Colgate or Miami on Sunday. Tip-off for Friday's game is set for 1:30 p.m.
