JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2023) – As the basketball season is underway, the ETSU Athletic Department is releasing "Getting to Know" videos for the Buccaneer men's and women's basketball teams. 
 
ETSU men's basketball head coach Brooks Savage and women's head coach Brenda Mock Brown sat down one-on-one with their players, so the Buccaneer fans can get to know the student-athletes as we approach the 2023-24 season. 
 
The fourth women's basketball player interview is freshman Brecken Snotherly. Snotherly is a 5'9" guard from Franklinville, N.C.  
 
Snotherly prepped at Eastern Randolph High School in Ramseur, N.C. where she lettered in both basketball and cross country. The Franklinville, N.C. native played shooting guard for Coach Jeff Davis en route to earning all-conference, all-district and all-tournament honors in hoops. 
 
Snotherly won the Midwest Regional with a first-place finish in cross country, while landing all-state honors and conference runner of the year. She averaged 18.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game as a freshman. Snotherly went on to post 14.4 PPG and 4.4 RPG as a sophomore, then 20.5 PPG and 81. RPG as a junior. She had a stellar senior season where she scored her 2,000th career point and broke the single-game scoring record at Eastern Randolph on the same day, dropping 51 points against Trinity on Feb. 8. She averaged 30.7 PPG and 9.7 RPG for a near double-double in 2022-23. In addition, she also averaged 3.6 steals per game as a senior.
 
The Bucs, who are coming off a program record 25-win season a year ago, defeated Lafayette 51-43 in their home opener on Saturday.
