CHARLESTON, S.C. (Oct. 4, 2023) –?Now is the perfect time for a getaway to Charleston, but for ETSU, a trip to the Low Country is all about business.
The ETSU women's soccer team travels to The Citadel for a rare Thursday afternoon contest. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on Thursday at Washington Light Infantry Field in Charleston.

ABOUT THE BUCS
· ETSU's eight-game unbeaten streak was snapped on Sunday with a 1-0 loss at Mercer. Jada Moorman scored in the 52nd minute and the Bucs were unable to find an equalizer.
· ETSU's shutout streak ended at 640 minutes, a school record. The Bucs have also set the record for shutouts in a season as a team with nine.
Ashton Blair has five shutouts, tied for second-most in a season by an individual in school history.
· The Bucs are led in scoring by
Sinoxolo Cesane and Reagan Fitzgerald with four goals each. Cesane scored the game-winner against Chattanooga last Thursday, ETSU's most recent victory.
ABOUT THE CITADEL
· The Bulldogs are still searching for their first win of conference play after a 3-2 loss at VMI on Sunday. After carrying a 2-0 lead into halftime, the Bulldogs conceded in the 50th, 71st, and 83rd minutes.
· Ariana Paez is the leading scorer for The Citadel, with three goals and nine assists totaling 15 points. Paez leads the SoCon and is seventh in the nation in assists, and she is the fifth-leading point scorer in the SoCon.
· The Citadel is the fairest-playing team in the SoCon at just 7.17 fouls per game. That rate also ranks 43rd nationally.
· The Bulldogs were picked eighth in the SoCon preseason poll.
SERIES HISTORY
· This is the 15th meeting between ETSU and The Citadel. The Buccaneers are 10-3-1 against the Bulldogs.
· The Citadel has won three of the last five against ETSU, but the Bucs won the last matchup on October 3, 2022, in Charleston.
Lindsey Cook scored in the 65th minute to lift the Bucs to the win.
· The Bucs are 4-1-1 all-time at WLI Field.
