Trevor Thompson was hired as the Director of Game Operations at East Tennessee State in July 2026.
Thompson originally joined the ETSU staff in 2024 as the department’s Game Operations and Facilities graduate assistant. During his time in that role, Thompson worked closely with all athletic teams in Johnson City.
He is a former student-athlete having suited up for the football team at Bluefield University for the 2020 season before finishing his playing career with the Buccaneers during the 2021-24 seasons. Thompson played middle linebacker and also spent time on the special teams unit during his time on the gridiron.
Thompson, a Vinton, Virginia native, is a two-time graduate of ETSU. He completed a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, for which he earned Cum Laude honors, in 2024 and a Master's degree in Sports Management in 2026.
