Taylor was hired as Head Football Athletic Trainer football at ETSU in 2025.
Before returning to the Tri-Cities, he was previously at East Carolina University for the 2023 and 2024 football seasons. While at ECU he worked primarily with football as the deputy associate athletic trainer. Prior to ECU, Lafever worked at his alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University in 2022. At MTSU, Taylor worked with football and men’s golf. Before MTSU, Lafever served as an assistant athletic trainer at Samford University where he worked primarily with football, men’s tennis, and softball.
Taylor also brings NFL experience with him to Johnson City. He completed a training camp internship with the New England Patriots in the summer of 2017 in addition to a seasonal internship with the Atlanta Falcons in 2020. Lafever has a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Health, Exercise, and Sports Science from The Citadel.
Lafever resides in the Tri-Cities with his wife, Lindsey and two kids, Anderson and Kollyns. Â
