Laylo Bakhodriova recently wrapped up her third season as an assistant coach at her alma mater in 2025-26. She joined ETSU's coaching staff in the Fall of 2023.
Bakhodirova helped the Buccaneers go 16-8 overall and 6-1 in conference play in 2026. The Bucs were nationally ranked in 2026 and picked up victories over Virginia Tech and nationally ranked opponents in Liberty and Furman. Overall, four of the six Bucs on the roster earned All-SoCon recognition for their play all season long. Bakhodirova helped ETSU upset top-seeded Furman in the Southern Conference Tournament Championship that lifted the Bucs to their third NCAA Tournament appearance in the past four seasons.
During her second season helping coach the Bucs, ETSU went 14-9 and 6-1 in SoCon play and reached as high as No. 58 in the ITA national poll. The national ranking was the highest ever for the Buccaneer women's tennis program. After a second-place finish in the regular season, the Bucs had three players earn All-SoCon honors. Ksenija Rage was named the SoCon's Freshman of the Year and the duo of Daniela Rivera and Alessandra Caceres both garnered All-League recognition as well.
In 2024, Bakhodriova helped ETSU capture both the SoCon Regular Season and Tournament Championships. Overall, the Bucs went 17-8 on the season and secured wins over ranked foes, #63 USF and #57 VCU. Furthermore, Bakhodriova helped ETSU reach its highest national ranking in the history of the program (#60) and five different players earned All-SoCon honors.
As a player for the Bucs, Bakhodirova was one of the most decorated players in program history. She played for ETSU from 2018-23. Bakhodirova was named the 2023 SoCon Player of the Year and also earned the 2023 Pinnacle Award from the conference, which goes to the student-athlete with the highest GPA on the championship winning team. She was also named the ITA Ohio Valley Region's most improved senior and was named ETSU's Female Athlete of the Year. During her time in Johnson City, Bakhodirova is a four-time SoCon First Team selection and also was a multiple-time recipient of the SoCon Player of the Week, SoCon Player of the Month and SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week awards during her time in the Blue & Gold.
