Dwight Perry

ETSU men's basketball head coach Brooks Savage added Dwight Perry to his coaching staff as an assistant coach in June of 2026.

"I have known and respected Dwight for many years, and I am thrilled to welcome him and his family to ETSU.," Savage said. "It quickly became clear that we share a vision for the game, our program, and what it takes to win at a high level. Dwight's experience, leadership, and commitment to investing in the players make him a tremendous addition to our staff. He is an outstanding teacher, a man of great character, and someone who will have a significant impact on our student-athletes and our pursuit of championships."

Perry arrived in Johnson City after serving as the head coach at Wofford, where he led the Terriers from December 2022 through the 2024-25 season after spending 2019-21 as an assistant. During his time as head coach of the Terriers, Perry led Wofford to the 2025 Southern Conference Tournament Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance against Tennessee. He had winning seasons every year he was on the Wofford staff and saw eight different players earn All-Southern Conference honors, along with coaching five players who earned All-Freshman team accolades.

Before his time at Wofford, Perry spent five seasons at Furman University, helping the Paladins to a 91-68 overall record with three 20-win seasons and a shared regular season title in 2016-17. He also helped recruit and coach 17 all-freshman and all-conference selections, including two SoCon Players of the Year and one Freshman of the Year.

Perry also served as a graduate assistant under former Virginia Commonwealth head coach Shaka Smart for two seasons before being named as the Rams' video coordinator for the 2013-14 campaign. Prior to his time in Richmond, he served as an intern with Stanford's men's basketball program for two years.

A 2010 graduate of the University of Kentucky, Perry played three seasons for the Wildcats and earned a degree in business management. He was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Perry married the former Brittany Gee in August of 2016, and the couple has two sons, Dwight III (Trey) and Ashton.
