Alp Aslan Uysal joined the ETSU Women’s Basketball program as a Sports Performance Coach in August 2024 and began his first season in 2024-25. He will begin his first season as the lead Sport Performance Coach in 2025-2026.
Prior to joining ETSU in 2024, Alp was an intern in Turkish Basketball League (Division 1) from 2023 to 2024. Between 2015 and 2023, he coached in fitness, crossfit, and strongman. As a former athlete, he also competed in basketball, crossfit, and strongman.
Alp is currently pursuing a PhD in Sport Performance at ETSU, as well as a PhD in Exercise and Training Science at Marmara University in Turkey, where he is entering his third year and at the dissertation stage. Alp received a Bachelor's degree in Business in 2013 from SUNY New Paltz, an MBA with a concentration in Finance from NYIT in 2017; started his second Bachelor's degree in Sport Coaching at Marmara University in 2021 (with basketball as his major sport), and received a Master's degree in Exercise and Training Science from Marmara University in 2022.
Alp has received his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
