Demar Bobb

Damar Bobb

Damar Bobb joined the ETSU women’s basketball program as the team’s Sports Performance Coach during the 2023 offseason and begins his first season in 2023-24.

Prior to joining the women’s basketball program, Bobb spent his first year at ETSU in 2022-23 serving as the Sports Performance Coach for ETSU men's tennis. While working with the men’s tennis team, the Bucs claimed the 2023 Southern Conference Championship — their 12th in program history.

From 2018-2020, Bobb was an undergraduate instructor at San Jose State University in San Jose, Calif. In 2019, he also served as a sports performance coach at Santa Clara University. While at SCU, he was the lead coach for the Broncos men’s tennis program, assisted in programming and coaching for SCU cross country and assisted with the men’s and women’s basketball programs.

The Brooklyn, N.Y., native was a Program Director and Head Coach for IndoorHoops in New York, New York from 2013-2018. In this role he created practice plans, workouts and seminars centered around basketball development for service users. During this time, Bobb jointly operated as a basketball skill development coach — working players of various ages — while focusing on adult and professional player maintenance.

Bobb is currently pursuing his PhD in sport performance and physiology in the Department of Sport, Exercise, Recreation, and Kinesiology (SERK) at ETSU. Bobb received a Bachelor's degree in public relations in 2011 from St. John’s University, a Bachelor’s in exercise physiology in 2017 from Brooklyn College, as well as a Master’s in Exercise physiology with a concentration in sports performance in 2020 from San Jose State University.

Bobb has received his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He also coached basketball at the club level and provides mentorship for younger performance coaches from similar backgrounds in hopes of growing the field.
