Caitlyn Nelson is entering her sixth year at East Tennessee State University. This is her fourth season serving as the Head Athletic Trainer at ETSU. Nelson works primarily with the football team and oversees the coverage of the men’s and women’s track & field and cross country programs.

Nelson spent 2018-2020 completing her Master of Science Degree in Sport Management at ETSU. During this time she served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for the football program, the men’s and women’s track & field team and the cross country programs. Prior to starting her graduate assistantship in 2018, Caitlyn served as a Certified Intern at ETSU. She covered both the football program, and the men’s and women’s track & field and cross country programs.

Caitlyn earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training at Truman State University in 2017. She is a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Tennessee, is certified in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and is member of the NATA.

Caitlyn and her husband currently reside in Johnson City. In her spare time, Caitlyn enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, and being outside with her dogs.
