2021 (Graduate): Made two starts and five appearances out of the bullpen in his first year at ETSU… Concluded the year with a 9.00 ERA, 16 strikeouts and an 0-1 record in 13 innings of work… Made his first ETSU start vs Northern Kentucky (2/21) and picked up the loss, allowing four runs in 3.1 innings of work, recording four K’s…Had two scoreless relief appearances (vs Radford, 3/9; at Samford 3/26).

Prior to ETSU: Graduate transfer from College of Charleston (WV) where he played four seasons as a relief pitcher. In 2016 as a freshman, had three appearances and 3 IP allowing zero runs, 3 K's and 4 BB... As a R-Sophomore, made 12 APP, 10.2 IP, 14 H, 8 ER, 15 BB and 8 K with a 6.75 ERA... In 2019 he appeared in 10 games and held a 15.1 ERRA with 13 K's...in the shortened year of 2020, Townsend made six appearances and held a 6.75 ERA in 6.2 IP...He struck out 13 batters and allowed three walks.

Personal: Born Jan. 19, 1997…from Gallatin, Tenn. Son of Heath and Allison Townsend…Is currently a grad student at ETSU completing an MBA.
