SPARTANBURG, S.C. (June 24, 2026) – The Southern Conference released its annual Academic All-Conference Teams on Wednesday and there were several Buccaneers that were recognized for their work in the classroom.
Overall, 90 ETSU different student-athletes earned Academic All-SoCon honors on Wednesday. For the fall teams, football led the way with 12 honorees, while the softball team paced the charge during the spring with 12 as well. Sydney Harz (women's golf), William Hartig (men's cross country/outdoor track & field), Whitney Boone (softball), Alex Kreutzmann (volleyball) all posted 4.0 GPAs during the academic year.
The SoCon Academic All-Conference teams include student-athletes who compile a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and participate in at least 50 percent of their team's contests in a varsity sport sponsored by the Southern Conference. Student-athletes must have at least three semesters of class work at a SoCon institution under their belt to be eligible.
