JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 3, 2026) – The No. 60 ETSU men's tennis team will aim to lock up the Southern Conference Regular Season Championship next week with matches at Furman on Monday and The Citadel on Wednesday. Monday's match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time, while Wednesday's is slated to get underway at 2 p.m.
ETSU is coming off a 7-0 shutout win over Chattanooga on Thursday. Thursday's victory was ETSU's 17
th in a row. The Bucs' 17 wins in a row is the second-longest winning streak in the country this season behind only Wake Forest's 18 consecutive victories.
Furman is currently 7-12 overall and 3-1 in SoCon action. The Paladins earned wins over UNC Greensboro, Mercer, and The Citadel. Overall, the Paladins are 25-24 in doubles play and 42-55 in singles this spring.
The Citadel is 5-22 this spring and 0-5 in conference play. The Bulldogs' five wins this season have been against Marion Military Institute, Augusta, Stonehill, Hofstra, and Emory-Oxford.
Since 2001, the Buccaneers have held the definite edge against both Furman and The Citadel. Overall, the Bucs are a combined 43-2 against these two programs during that time frame. One of Furman's two wins over ETSU came in last season's SoCon Tournament, while the Bulldogs haven't knocked off the Bucs since 1989.
