Bucs grind out a 4-2 win over Chattanooga to advance to the SoCon Final

ETSU will face top-seeded Furman on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the SoCon title

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 17, 2026) – The No. 2 seed ETSU women's tennis team punched its ticket to Saturday's SoCon Tournament Final with a 4-2 victory over No. 3 seed Chattanooga in the SoCon Semifinals on Friday morning. With Friday's victory, the Buccaneers improve to 15-7 on the season.
 
Friday's contest began with ETSU rolling to the doubles point with victories by scores of 6-1 and 6-2. Moving onto singles, Alessandra Caceres (6-1, 6-1) and Mariangel Estrella (6-3, 6-0) both won their respective matches to bring the Bucs within a point of clinching the match. However, the Mocs won the next two singles matches to make the score, 3-2. Chattanooga's comeback attempt was stopped though as Julia Millan knocked off Savannah Presson (7-5, 6-4) to give the win to the Buccaneers.

ETSU will take on top-seeded Furman for the SoCon Tournament title on Saturday afternoon. First serve between the Bucs and Paladins is set for 1 p.m. from the Champions Club in Chattanooga.
