No. 68 Men’s Tennis travels to Florida for a pair of matches

Bucs look to build on their 12-match winning streak in the Sunshine State

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 16, 2026) – The No. 68 ETSU men's tennis team will head to Florida this week for a pair of non-conference matches. First, the Bucs will face off against Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. ETSU will then close out its trip on Wednesday with a clash at FAU at 5 p.m.

The Bucs have been one of the hottest teams in the country recently. Following wins over UNC Greensboro (5-2) and Mercer (6-1), ETSU has won 12 consecutive dual matches and boast a 12-3 overall record. It is the longest winning streak by the Bucs in a single season since 2016 when they won 15 in a row.

Florida Gulf Coast will enter Tuesday's match with the Bucs with an 8-9 record overall. The Eagles have won back-to-back matches against Fordham and Bucknell by identical 4-1 scores. FGCU has a combined record of 6-2 in matches played at home or at a neutral site compared to a 2-7 mark in true road contests.

FAU is also hovering around the .500 mark entering this week with its record standing at 6-6. Four of the Owls' six wins this season have been at home and they just dropped their first match in Boca Raton last Friday to Rice by a score of 4-0.

Since they were rivals in the Atlantic Sun in the mid-to-late 2000's, the Bucs and Eagles have clashed 10 times. ETSU has come away with the win in each of them. As for FAU, the Owls hold a slim 3-2 advantage in the five previous matchups. ETSU's last victory over FAU came in 2017, 4-2.
