RICHMOND, Va. (Jan. 30, 2026) – Coming off victories over Eastern Kentucky and Tusculum, the ETSU men's tennis team will look to continue its winning ways this weekend with matches against DePaul and VCU in Richmond, Virginia. The Bucs play DePaul on Saturday and VCU on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m.
ETSU enters this weekend's matches with a 2-3 record. The Buccaneers earned a 4-3 win over Eastern Kentucky and then shut out Tusculum, 7-0. All three of the ETSU's losses have been against teams either ranked or receiving votes in the national poll in Tennessee (twice) and Wake Forest.
DePaul has played just one match so far in 2026 and that was a 4-3 loss to Cleveland State. In 2025, the Blue Demons went 13-11, which was their second straight winning season.
VCU, meanwhile, has played two matches this spring. The Rams earned a 6-1 victory over Georgetown in their season opener but dropped a 4-3 tilt to Charlotte.
Saturday will mark the first ever meeting between DePaul and ETSU. As for the series against VCU, Sunday will be the 15
th all-time meeting between the two programs. The Rams have won 13 of the previous 14 meetings with ETSU's lone win coming in 2019, 4-3.
