Men's golf returns to Chicago for Windon Memorial Classic

The Bucs join 15 teams for the tournament

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The East Tennessee State men's golf program continues in the fall campaign at the Windon Memorial Classic hosted by Northwestern over September 29-30.

The teams in the field include Illinois, Oral Roberts, Marquette, SMU, Indiana, South Florida, Northwestern, Ohio State, New Mexico, Michigan State, Purdue, Minnesota, UC-Davis, Kansas and Notre Dame.

LAST TIME OUT AT THE WINDON MEMORIAL CLASSIC
  • Senior Kristian Bressum registered his ninth career top-10 finish and his first as a Buccaneer with a T-sixth finish at three under (71+69+70-210(-3)).
  • The Bucs finished 11th overall in the tournament.
  • Freshman Charl Barnard carded his lowest round of the tournament in round three as he shot a 1-over 72 and finished 32nd at 6-over-par 219.
2024-25 SEASON
  • ETSU men's golf secured the program's fifth consecutive Southern Conference Tournament title in the 2024-25 season, and the first for O'Callaghan as head coach.
  • The squad advanced to the 2025 NCAA Reno Regional where they finished ninth overall.
  • Kristian Bressum, Yannick Malik and Joshua Pritchett were tabbed as Cobalt Golf Academic All-Americans following the season.
  • Kristian Bressum led the program through the entirety of the season, collecting three SoCon Golfer of the Week honors and earning the SoCon Player of the Year award.  Bressum finished 21st overall at the Reno Regional (218, +7) after finishing fifth overall at the SoCon Championship (209, -7).
  • Yannick Malik was the top finisher for the Bucs at the SoCon Championships, finishing second overall with a score of 207 (-9). Previously in the season, Malik recorded a career-best outing of 61 (-11) at The Virginian.
  • Gavin Tiernan represented Ireland in the 2025 Walker Cup, where he out-scored American Michael La Sasso as a 2&1 winner.
