SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Sept. 1, 2025) – The Southern Conference announced that ETSU's
Devontae Houston was named the Conference's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Houston played a vital role in ETSU's 45-17 win over Murray State on Saturday. The graduate running back ran for a team-high 128 yards on 14 carries (9.1 per carry) with two touchdowns. The 128 yards were the most in Houston's ETSU career & it is also the fourth time that he has surpassed 100 rushing yards in a Buccaneer uniform. Houston, who had a 51-yard run on one of ETSU's scoring drives, and his 128 yards helped the Blue and Gold rush for 392 yards, which is the team's highest single-game total since 2021 vs. Western Carolina (461 yards).
Next up for ETSU will be a trip to Knoxville to take on Tennessee on Saturday. Kickoff between the Bucs and Vols is set for 3:30 p.m. on SEC Network Plus.
