TEMPE, Ariz. (June 9, 2025) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently released its final NCAA Division I women's tennis regional rankings of the 2025 season. As a team, ETSU came in at No. 7 in the Ohio Valley Regional, while
Daniela Rivera checked in at No. 14 among singles players in the region.
ETSU is coming off a season where it went 14-9 overall and 6-1 in SoCon action. Three different Bucs garnered All-SoCon honors, and the team achieved its highest-ever ITA National Ranking (No. 58). The Buccaneers finished behind only Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Purdue, Louisville and Xavier in the regional rankings.
During her senior season as a Buc, Rivera went 12-9 in singles action and paired with
Alessandra Caceres to go 15-5 in doubles. Rivera, who played exclusively in the No. 1 singles spot for the Bucs, picked up singles wins against players from Minnesota, VCU, and nationally ranked Furman twice. Rivera paired with Caceres to be one of the top pairings in the SoCon. The duo won tilts against Alabama, Minnesota, nationally ranked Charlotte, FAU, and Furman in 2025. She earned multiple SoCon Player of the Week honors on February 18 and April 1. For her play all season long, Rivera was named to the All-SoCon First Team in both singles and doubles marking the fourth consecutive season that Rivera has earned All-SoCon honors.
