JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 8, 2025) – The ETSU men's tennis team will wrap up the regular season this week with a pair of home matches against Furman and The Citadel. First serve between the Bucs and Paladins is set for 2 p.m. on Wednesday. As for the tilt against The Citadel, the match will be on Friday with the start time to be determined based upon the weather.
ETSU logged a 6-1 win over Samford last Friday. With the victory over the Bulldogs, the Bucs improved to 10-6 overall and 4-1 in SoCon play. If ETSU can knock off both Furman and The Citadel this week, it'll be the first time since 2021 that the Bucs concluded a home schedule undefeated (5-0 in 2021, 5-0 so far in 2025).
Furman begins the month of April with an overall record of 6-13 and a 2-3 SoCon mark. The Paladins have been led this spring by Walker Allen who has a team-high 10 singles victories. In doubles, Nico Snyder and Nicolas Dispas has been the Paladins' top tandem with a 10-7 record.
The Citadel is currently 4-23 overall and 0-6 in SoCon action. Three of the Bulldogs' four wins came on the road against USC Sumter, Oxford College of Emory and Methodist University.
The Bucs have enjoyed plenty of success against Furman with a record of 19-1, including an 8-0 mark in matches played in Johnson City. Against The Citadel, meanwhile, the Bucs boast a record of 36-3. ETSU has won 32 straight matches against the Bulldogs with The Citadel's last win in the series coming in 1989.
