Men's Golf Headed to Reno for NCAA Regionals

SoCon champions are 12 seed on former PGA Tour course

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 30, 2025) – The Bucs will trade the Appalachian Mountains for the Sierra Nevada in May.

The ETSU men's golf team was selected to the Reno Regional of the 2025 NCAA Men's Golf Championship on Wednesday, to be played at the Montreux Golf & Country Club May 12-14. The Buccaneers received the Southern Conference's automatic bid for winning their fifth consecutive SoCon Men's Golf Championship last week.

ETSU is the 12 seed in the Reno Regional, which is hosted jointly by the University of Nevada and the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority. Texas is the top seed, followed by ACC champion Virginia, Alabama, Duke, and Mississippi State. The field also includes BYU, San Diego, Santa Clara, Cal, Grand Canyon, Sam Houston, Central Arkansas, and Fairfield. The top five teams and the top individual not on those teams will advance to the 2025 NCAA Men's Golf Championship at Omni Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, May 23-28.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1998, Montreux is a 7,552 yard par-72 course at a 5,500 feet elevation. It hosted the Reno-Tahoe Open (sponsored as the Barracuda Championship) from 1999-2019.
