GREENSBORO, Ga. (April 20, 2025) - With 18 holes behind them, the Bucs are where they expect to be - at the sharp end of the SoCon Championship field. 

The ETSU men's golf team sits second in the team standings after the first round of the 2025 SoCon Championship at The Oconee Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee, three shots back of leaders UNCG. Senior Kristian Bressum and junior Yannick Malik lead the Buccaneers and sit in a tie for third after shooting a pair of 3-under 69s. 

The Buccaneers got off to a strong start with birdies from Bressum and Josh Pritchett and an eagle from Malik on the par-5 first hole, with Pritchett posting the team's lowest score on the front nine at a 3-under 33. He finished the round with a 2-under 70 score to end the day in eighth. Ben Carberry and Gavin Tiernan finished even-par as part of a tie for 17th. 

The Bucs will be paired with UNCG in round two on Monday with tee times beginning at 9:55am.
