HOMESTEAD, Fla. (Mar. 28, 2025) - ETSU's triathlon team competed in the Americas Triathlon Cup Women's Elite at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday.
Freshman Julia Visgueiro, in her first Elite race, finished 16th with a time of 56:49, the seventh fastest collegiate athlete in the race and the fastest racer competing under the Brazilian flag. Visgueiro was third-fastest in the swim leg with a 9:40 time.
In her final race as a Buccaneer, Sarah Plant finished 48th with a time of exactly one hour. Plant was 10th fastest on the bike with a 27:33.
The race in Miami concludes ETSU's spring 2025 schedule, but Visgueiro will compete the next two weekends as she attempts to qualify for the Brazilian under-23 national team for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay in August.
