MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Mar. 18, 2025) - On the final day in Myrtle Beach, Kristian Bressum was at his best.
The senior from Denmark turned in a bogey-free 5-under 67, tied for the third-best round of the tournament by any golfer, to jump 10 spots to a tie for a seventh-place finish at the General James Hackler Championship at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club on Tuesday.
The top ten finish is Bressum's fourth straight and fifth in his last six tournaments, and his third bogey-free round this season. A lot of the work came late, with three birdies in the final six holes, including the par-4 16th. Bressum was one of eight players in the field to shoot below par on the 10 par-4s at The Dunes over 54 holes this week.
Elsewhere, Joshua Pritchett fired a 1-over 73 to finish 2-over for the tournament, and Yannick Malik's 1-under 71 got him back to 3-over for the week. Ben Carberry shot a 4-over 76 and finished 9-over for the tournament, while Gavin Tiernan had a tough final day and finished 12-over for the balance of the week.
As a team, ETSU finished seventh with a 6-over 870, three shots behind Kent State and three shots ahead of hosts Coastal Carolina. Auburn, the top team in the nation, won the tournament with a convincing final round pushing them to a 33-under 831 team score, and Brendan Valdes won medalist honors for the Tigers with a tournament-best 67 to finish 12-under.
The Bucs head to Awendaw, South Carolina, this weekend for The Hootie at Bulls Bay, which they have won two of the last three years.
