FORT MYERS/BOCA RATON, Fla. (March 17, 2025) – The ETSU men's tennis team will bring its six-match winning streak to Florida this week with matches at Florida Gulf Coast and FAU. Like last season, the Bucs have battled back from a slow start to reel off several wins in a row. ETSU has not lost a match since February 21 at Elon and started SoCon play with back-to-back wins over UNC Greensboro and Wofford. Thanks to the six consecutive wins, ETSU is now over the .500 mark overall (7-4) and in singles action (37-26).

Carlos Gonzales pace the Bucs with eight singles victories a piece this spring.
Florida Gulf Coast enters Tuesday's matchup with the Bucs with a 6-11 record. Prior to a 5-2 loss to Stetson on Sunday, the Eagles were on a three-match winning streak with victories over Furman (5-2), VCU (5-2) and UT Arlington (4-3).
FAU, meanwhile, is 5-7 in 2025. The Owls have won four straight contests entering this week's action with victories over UTSA (4-3), South Alabama (5-2), Penn (4-3) and VCU (5-2). A player to watch for FAU is John Bernard, who was ranked No. 106 in the latest ITA Singles Rankings.
ETSU is 9-0 all-time against Florida Gulf Coast. The Bucs and Eagles used to be former conference rivals in the Atlantic Sun but have not met in a match since 2018. FAU and ETSU have split the six previous meetings between these two programs. The Owls knocked off the Bucs, 5-2, last March and ETSU last defeated FAU in 2017, 4-2.
